As part of the strategic partnership with the Republic of Korea, the National Academy of Public Administration has taken an important step in the digitalization of public administration through the specialized training "Building Capacity for Artificial Intelligence". From October 9 to 13, 2023, leading Korean experts shared their experiences and knowledge in the fields of artificial intelligence, big data and machine learning with the public administration employees and NAPA accredited trainers.
The training was officially opened by NAPA acting director, Dejan Miletić, and Baek Kyoung-Rok, representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Korea. The training was led by prominent South Korean lecturers: Sang-Youp Lee, an expert in artificial intelligence and big data, and Yong-Jin Jung, a specialist in the Python programming language and data analysis tools.
As the aim of the training was not only to improve the knowledge and skills of the trainees, but also to inspire new strategic approaches in the digitization of public services in Serbia, guests from the Republic of Korea presented the latest methods and tools in the field of artificial intelligence and data analysis, as well as examples of good practices from South Korea. The next step is for the trainees to take on the role of trainers and to encourage further capacity building of public administration in these areas, as an important part of the reform process.
After the end of the training, on October 16, there will be a discussion and analysis of the training with Korean experts, which will be the basis for creating a training programme for public servants in these areas.
Certificates of completed training were ceremoniously presented to the trainees today.
This investment in the knowledge and skills of employees in the public administration of the Republic of Serbia is part of the broader project "Serbian-Korean Centre for Cooperation in the Field of Digitization", which is implemented by the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment and the Korean National Agency for Information Society.
