In line with the decision made at the session of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the duty of Acting Director of the National Academy for Public Administration was taken over by Mrs Marina Dražić.
The former Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, who has held this position since 2017, completed her undergraduate and Master studies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade, and gained experience in the public administration system in the Ministry of Justice, the Administrative Inspectorate, as well as the Ministry of Youth and Sports through various roles since 2010.
She contributed to the reform and professionalization of public administration through the creation of numerous legal acts and the implementation of development projects, including the ones dealing with the establishment of a central population registry, the management of the registry of political parties, the digitization of registries of civil records, and the editing of the single electoral roll by its electronic reference to citizen databases.
The improvement of the local self-government system has been in the focus of her professional activities. As the manager of the "Local Self-Government for the 21st Century" project, she led a team that successfully worked on the development of inter-municipal cooperation, as well as on the overall increase of the efficiency of the local self-government system.
Acquiring a certificate for directors and managers in the public sector, and the Certificate for senior civil servants "Strengthening leadership skills in public administration" are part of her professional upgrade, and she has been involved in the work of NAPA since 2021 as an accredited training provider.
The successful work and further development of NAPA will continue with a focus on supporting the modernization of public administration, as well as bringing the public administration and local self-governments closer together by exchanging examples of good practice. "I believe that we will continue to successfully implement the mission of the Academy. One of the main reasons for the establishment of this institution was to enable local civil servants to have access to the same training as those on the central government level. Creating an administration tailored to all citizens is the goal that the entire system strives for. The main factor of this process are civil servants, and raising the level of their expertise and professionalism is the Academy's main task, all with the aim of achieving easier and faster exercise of citizens' rights", said Mrs Dražić.
