The Acting Director of the National Academy of Public Administration, Mr. Dejan Miletić, and the representatives of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government paid an official visit to France, on June 19-20, 2023. The study visit was organized as a concrete step in the promotion of bilateral and administrative cooperation between Serbia and France.
The guests from Serbia attended a series of meetings in Paris with the representatives of French institutions, including a meeting with the members of the French Parliament, Mr. Frédéric Petit and Ms. Liliane Tanguy.
On that occasion, the Agreement on Cooperation between the National Academy and the French National Institute of Public Service (INSP) was renewed and signed by Mr. Miletić and Ms. Maryvonne Le Brignonen, the Director of the INSP.
The meetings in Paris were additionally aimed at acquainting the relevant actors from Serbia with the comprehensive reform of the French public administration. Some of the processes discussed during the meetings, which were included in the reform process, included the selection and appointment of civil servants in office, mandatory advanced professional training, as well as various initiatives for career development in public administration. Among the topics was also the attractiveness of the public administration as an employer, as a direct consequence of the quality of working environment and provision of services to citizens.
Understanding of the successful practices and reform strategies gained by the Serbian delegation during the study visit to Paris and to the French institutions is of great significance for the public administration reform process implemented by the Republic of Serbia.
