The training center of the National Academy of Public Administration hosted a special event to mark the beginning of the project "Fourth Industrial Revolution: New Technologies".
The introductory address by Dejan Miletić, Acting Director of the National Academy of Public Administration, was followed by a panel discussion attended by Ana Brnabić, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Francine Pickup, UNDP Resident Representative in Serbia and Mihailo Vesović, Director of the Sector for Strategic Analysis, Services and Internationalization of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
They shared their insights into how new technologies shape the world, while Mihailo Jovanović, director of the Office for Information Technology and Electronic Administration, spoke about the importance of data in public administration.
The Prime Minister of Serbia pointed out to the great role that eUprava (eGovernment system) had in the preceding period. She emphasized that, with the initiatives and programs aimed at digital education, Serbia aspires to position itself as one of the winners of the fourth industrial revolution and pointed out to the importance of the National Academy of Public Administration in the process.
The Acting Director of the National Academy of Public Administration Dejan Miletić said that "the Government of the Republic of Serbia has recognized digitalization as one of its key priorities and a necessity in order to provide better public services, high quality labor market and an attractive business environment", stressing the key role of the Academy in this process.
The online training "Fourth Industrial Revolution: New Technologies" was developed at the initiative of the Prime Minister's Office and in cooperation with the Office for IT and e-Government and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). It includes several modules aimed at raising the knowledge of public administration employees about new technologies: blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, large data management, augmented and virtual reality, machine learning, 3D printing and platform economy.
The event concluded with the ceremonial awarding of certificates to the first generation of data officers who attended the Basic Training for Data Officers of the National Academy of Public Administration in November this year.
