EGPA 2026: PUBLIC GOVERNANCE FOR THE COMMON GOOD

27 August 2026

Marina Dražić, Director of the National Academy of Public Administration, is participating in the European Group for Public Administration Conference (EGPA 2026) in Rome, which brings together experts, researchers and representatives of institutions from Europe and the wider international community.
The conference focuses on the future of public administration amid rapid technological development and the increasingly widespread use of artificial intelligence, as well as on how technology can be placed at the service of the public interest and used to improve public services.
As EGPA 2026 Chairs Noemi Rossi and Sabine Kuhlmann, emphasise, public administration should not be viewed solely as a technical system. Its essence remains human—based on knowledge, practical wisdom, empathy, dialogue and responsibility, with the common good as its principal objective.
Particular attention is devoted to finding a balance between efficiency and fairness, innovation and inclusion, and short-term results and long-term sustainability.
For the National Academy of Public Administration, these messages provide important encouragement to continue investing in the knowledge, skills and professional development of public servants. Public administration must keep pace with technological change and harness its potential, while ensuring that technology serves people, the public interest and the common good.
