Today, Marina Dražić, Director of the National Academy for Public Administration (NAPA), participated in the conference “EQUAL.SAFE.EMPOWERED”, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The conference was opened by the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, who stated:
“We must introduce stricter measures and laws, speak openly about violence against women, and prevent it at all costs. On this issue, we must show unity and give it the utmost importance. We must protect women and girls, and there must be no compromises.”
The next speaker was Tatjana Macura, Minister without portfolio in charge of coordinating activities in the areas of gender equality, prevention of violence against women, and economic and political empowerment of women.
Organized under the auspices of Minister Macura’s Office, this event brought together key stakeholders, institutional representatives, experts, and public figures to promote the principles of equality, safety, and empowerment. Among the attendees were Ivica Dačić, Minister of Interior, Dr Zlatibor Lončar, Minister of Health, Maja Popović, Minister of Justice, Nemanja Starović, Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran, and Social Affairs, and Tomislav Žigmanov, Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue.
NAPA is actively involved in implementing strategies for gender equality and violence prevention. So far, more than 2,500 civil servants have attended trainings in this area. Training programmes on anti-discrimination and gender equality are continuously being developed in cooperation with state institutions.
