Today, the “Values of Public Administration” conference is held at the National Academy for Public Administration (NAPA), organized in cooperation with the OSCE Mission to Serbia.
The conference was opened by Marina Dražić, Director of NAPA, and Maja Mićić, Good Governance Programme Advisor at the OSCE Mission to Serbia. Ms Dražić stated that the key goal of public administration reform is to build greater trust between citizens and the administration, emphasizing that the Academy’s role is to provide knowledge and support to public sector employees, who are the foundation of successful public sector reform.
Ljiljana Uzelac, Head of the Department for Strategic Planning and e-Government at the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, gave an inspiring lecture on the core values of public administration. This was followed by a panel featuring prominent experts in the field of public administration: Danilo Rončević, Director of the Human Resource Management Service; Milica Božanić, Assistant Director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption; Darko Radojičić, Assistant Director of the Republic Secretariat for Legislation; and Ninoslav Kekić, Assistant Director of the Republic Secretariat for Public Policies.
The discussion focused on the importance of competence, accountability, and professionalism of civil servants in performing public duties. Participants discussed the need to strengthen legality, legal security, good governance practices, and the professionalization of the civil service system, along with the implementation of ethical standards in everyday work.
