Their Excellencies, Mr. Yasir Al Naqbi and Mr. Mohamed Bin Taliah, representatives of the Government of the United Arab Emirates, led a high-level UAE delegation on their visit to the National Academy for Public Administration on Friday, 27 May 2022.
Apart from NAPA’s acting Director Mr. Dejan Miletić and the managing team, representatives of Prime Minister Brnabić’s Cabinet also attended the meeting. The main topic was the exchange of experiences in, first and foremost, the field of innovation, as well as the use of AI in public administration.
It was concluded that the primary goal shared by public administrations of both countries was raising the citizens’ life quality by optimizing the work of all system services. It was agreed that the cooperation would be concretized by joint projects implemented through study visits, e-visits, as well as joint training creation, primarily related to raising the digital capacity of officials and citizens. The parties also discussed the aim to equalize the professional capacities of officials at the national level and the level of local self-government units. The basis for joint plans and activities is the Memorandum on experience-sharing in modernization and development of government, signed earlier this year.
As a part of the UAE delegation’s two-day visit to the institutions of the Republic of Serbia, this meeting was a continuation of the intensification of cooperation between the two countries. During their short visit to Belgrade, the delegation will, in addition to NAPA, visit the Office for IT and e-Government, as symbols of modernization, digitalization and public administration reform in the region and beyond.
