The Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabić, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Aleksandar Martinović, the Minister of Information and Telecommunications Mihailo Jovanović, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden Annika Ben David and the permanent representative of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) Yakup Beris graced the meeting with their presence and speeches, organized on the occasion of presenting the results achieved since 2020 as part of the implementation of the "Modernized Programme Concept of the National Academy for Public Administration 2020-2025". The presentation of the results was held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at the National Academy for Public Administration
On that occasion, acting Director Dejan Miletić thanked the Government of Serbia and partners for their continuous support, in particular Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, as the founder of the Academy. He also presented her with the award "Honorary Ambassador of the National Academy for Public Administration" and stated that "while the Government of the Republic of Serbia is working on improving the modernization process, the Academy is constantly working on improving people, without whom any change is impossible”.
The Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, emphasized that the National Academy for Public Administration is a reliable partner of MoPALSG in implementing plans for the development of human capacities and professional development of employees in public administration, and expressed his belief that the multidisciplinary knowledge and skills agenda developed by NAPA will help in improving and practicing a new way of behaving, thinking and influencing the implementation of reform and development plans.
Minister of Information and Telecommunications Mihailo Jovanović pointed out that the Academy, MoPALSG and MIT have had one common goal in the past half decade - continuous professional training, so that every employee of the public administration is always able to respond to the needs of citizens and correctly, efficiently, accurately and economically implement regulations without discrimination, in a standardized and professional manner.
Permanent representative of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) Yakup Beris announced that the organization was to continue to support the Academy, stressing that next year learning tools would be available on mobile phones.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Serbia said that the modernization and digitization of public administration was the path to transparency in the work of public institutions, and that she was particularly pleased that Sweden had participated and supported the Academy.
NAPA program director Zvonko Popović has presented new tools that are the basis of the Modernized programme concept of NAPA 2020-2025", and the innovations that will be useful in the coming period not only in the process of professional development of employees, but also in the entire mechanism of public administration.
Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić concluded that before the establishment of the National Academy for Public Administration, there had been no single mechanism for the assistance and education of personnel in local self-governments, and that with the establishment of the Academy, local officials started the training in a systematic way.
