Today, Ms Marina Dražić, Director of the National Academy for Public Administration (NAPA), and Ms Nataša Stanisavljević, Commissioner for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation establishing a framework for long-term collaboration in the areas of professional development, data exchange for tracking the impact of training, and regular coordination of activities.
The Memorandum further supports continuous education in public administration and other fields important to both institutions.
“With the Memorandum we signed today, we are essentially deepening the already existing cooperation between our two institutions. From now on, our joint focus will be on raising awareness among all civil servants about the importance of protecting refugees, migrants, and displaced persons. These trainings must become a part of ongoing professional development at all levels, and we will jointly monitor their impact. Our goal is to ensure that, through training, civil servants better understand the rights and responsibilities of migrants and the role of civil society in managing migration,” stated Ms Dražić on the occasion.
Commissioner Nataša Stanisavljević emphasized the importance of cooperation with the National Academy in further strengthening the capacities of the Commissariat. She noted that this Memorandum lays the foundation for developing new training programmes and initiatives that will contribute to more effective migration management and support for migrants in Serbia.
“In addition to the accreditation of training programmes and lecturers, this cooperation includes support for the Commissariat in developing models and techniques for professional development, implementing joint projects at the national, regional, and international levels, and sharing experiences to strengthen capacity and programme activities. The Memorandum also envisions the use of modern technologies and facilities, such as the Commissariat’s Training Centre in Plandište, and cooperation with national and international institutions. Our goal is to strengthen professional development and raise standards for staff and individuals involved in migration management and service delivery,” said Commissioner Stanisavljević.
