What will the future shaped by artificial intelligence look like and what effects will it have on the human mind – are some of the questions answered by Gianluca Misuraca, an international expert in the field of artificial intelligence, and prof. Dr Zvezdan Pirtošek, a neurologist, Head of the Neurology Department at the Faculty of Medicine in Ljubljana.
This masterclass held on Thursday, 30 November 2023 gathered 350 NAPA accredited coaches and employees of the Serbian public administration and served as an opportunity for them to follow the unusual blend of perspectives of these two prominent experts in a hybrid format.
Mr Misuraca, an international policy advisor for digital governance, technology diplomacy, strategic foresight and social innovation, spoke first-hand about the novelty of the legal framework of artificial intelligence, its development potential, as well as the social and ethical dilemmas that go hand in hand with it. He paid special attention to numerous examples of the application of artificial intelligence in the public sector of different world countries.
Dr Pirtošek, Head of the Neurology Department at the University Clinical Centre of Ljubljana, spoke about habits that can help us keep our brains healthy in stressful modern times, but also offered a unique perspective that places the issue of digitalization at the very core of modern life, exploring one of the most intriguing topics of our time in which the worlds of medicine and technology merge - how our daily interactions with digital devices and technologies are transforming our most complex organ - the human brain.
The masterclass was organised as part of the project "Civil Service Training for the 21st Century in the Republic of Serbia", implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with the financial support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.
