The delegation of the National Academy for Public Administration attended the meeting of the Network of Directors of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration (DISPA), held on May 11 and 12 in Stockholm. The NAPA delegation consisted of Acting Director Dejan Miletić and Head of the Group for International Cooperation Radmila Tomović.
The topic of this year's first meeting was "Crisis Management in Public Administration". The first conference day was marked by discussions on the role of digitization and digital solutions in crisis management, as well as the presentation of several proven and successful models. On the second conference day, the participants focused on concrete examples of crisis management in the context of the global crisis, the recently ended Covid-19 pandemic.
Acting director of NAPA has launched the initiative of organizing training, which, at the annual meeting, would be conducted by all Network members on the same day and on the same agreed topic. As Mr Miletić has underlined, this would demonstrate commitment to cooperation and shared values. The Academy's delegation had a fruitful discussion on the deepening of bilateral cooperation with Arne Schönbohm, President of the Federal Academy for German Public Administration, as well as with Anna Mitelman, Head of the European School of Public Administration.
The Network of Directors of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration (DISPA) was established in 1995. Meetings of the Network are held twice a year in the country that presides over the Council of the EU at the time and are an opportunity for members to exchange knowledge and best practices in the field of professional development and public administration reform. In addition to school principals from EU Member States, school principals from neighbouring countries also participate in it. The National Academy for Public Administration became a member of the DISPA network in June 2018. The next meeting of the Network of Directors of Public Administration Schools will be held in the second half of 2023 in the Kingdom of Spain, which is the next country to hold the presidency of the Council of the European Union.
